Directorates
The Ministry is organized into the following five Directorates
1. Upstream Directorate
The Directorate is headed by a Senior Deputy Commissioner for Petroleum, it is organized into the following four (4) Divisions: -
- Petroleum Geological Exploration;
- Petroleum Geophysical Survey;
- Petroleum Geochemical Analysis; and
- Petroleum Engineering.
2. The Mid/Downstream Directorate
The Directorate is headed by a Senior Deputy Commissioner for Petroleum. It is organized into the following two (2) divisions:-
- Midstream
- Downstream
3. Geological Survey & Geo-information Management Directorate
The Directorate is headed by a Chief Geologist. It is organized into three (3) Divisions namely: -
- Geological Survey
- Geo-information Management; and
- Mineral Promotion and Marketing.
4. Directorate of Mines
The Directorate is headed by a Chief Inspector of Mines. It is further subdivided into five (5) Divisions namely:-
- Licencing and Mineral Management;
- Mines Inspectorate;
- Mineral Audit;
- Explosives Inspectorate; and
- Value Addition.
5. Administration and Support Services
The Directorate is headed by Secretary Administration. It is has the following divisions/units:-
- Administration
- Human Resource Management and Development Division
- Accounts
- Finance
- Central Planning and Projects Management Unit (CPPMU)
- Information Communication Technology Unit
- Public Communications Unit
- Legal Unit
- Supply Chain Management Services Unit
- Internal Audit
